Ecu-menace

I like the word 'ecu-mania' but this Colbert guy is funny, and can sure say the Creed fast (I'd like to hear him try the Latin Credo which I am having trouble with!!)

Hat-tip to Unam Sanctam.

  1. I think you've made a mistake in including this in you blog. Its funny ha ha rather than funny amusing and not many will understand it. Prayers and best wishes on the forthcoming birth. She's lucky to have you both as her parents. Like the clothes rail.

  2. OK - look this blog is not some theological statement. The video is something I find funny, and perhaps I'll do a more serious post about ecumenism sometime. I don't happen to believe in ecumenism, and don't think its a Catholic belief which I have to believe in. Colbert's report, in an attempt to be more amusing, hit on a lot of unfunny cliches about Catholic belief and history. However, his central theme on ecumenism (or inter-religious dialogue) was spot on. It did oversimplify the Pope's visit to Turkey, and picked an awful picture of the pope to show, but I agree with his point on ecumenism entirely. I'm sorry if my readers disagree, I'll just have to live with that. I try to be honest on this blog, and no one could accuse me of trying to do otherwise. I am a great sinner, and have so much to atone for in my life, and am not in a position to criticise the beliefs of other Catholics, but hey - I'm not perfect, and will slip up. So I'm sorry if I've caused offence to anyone.
